There is no fixed time, but if you put in the work and follow our guidance, we can get you to your first draft in 3-6 months. We meet with you, review your work and provide advice, edits and ideas. The publishing phase takes time as we engage beta readers and have multiple feedback sessions with you. Overall, you can expect the total process to take 9 months. Yes, similar to having a baby. You will find, that they are similar.
We find successful first time or second time authors spend 10-20 hours a week. The routine is the important part. Write, edit, rewrite, feedback, polish. Your story and characters will come to life. You will feel like you know them in person. You will also find the time goes fast, once you get in the grove (the routine), your output will increase and you will get better and better.
